Swimmer Florent Manaudou opened up about his depression after the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on Friday, April 11, on the TF1 show “Dancing with the Stars.” The French swimming star felt a sense of total emptiness after a very busy few months.
While Léon Marchand confided on L’Équipe that he had “taken a storm” after the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Florent Manaudou admitted to having suffered from depression. On Friday, April 11, on the TF1 show “Dancing with the Stars,” where he performed with Elsa Bois, the 34-year-old swimmer opened up about his illness.

While Léon Marchand confided on L’Équipe that he had “taken a storm” after the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Florent Manaudou admitted to having suffered from depression. On Friday, April 11, on the TF1 show “Dancing with the Stars,” where he performed in a duet with Elsa Bois, the 34-year-old swimmer opened up about his illness.

“I felt like I was being thrown into the void.”
“I love challenges. I’ve done them all my life, and when I have down periods, it’s always a bit complicated for me because when I don’t have much reason to get up in the morning, I fall into a kind of weird situation,” says Florent Manaudou. “After the Games, I fell into a depression for two or three months. For five years, I won’t say I woke up every morning thinking about the Paris Olympics, but in any case, it was something like that in the background that I saw and that motivated me.” »
“I was lucky enough to be the first torchbearer, to be the flag bearer. I won medals, so it was a lot of emotion, a lot of intensity, and then suddenly, nothing. I felt like I was being dropped into the void, without any direction. I had no goal, in fact,” continued Florent Manaudou, who had already mentioned “feeling alone” last October in L’Équipe.
